I may have given the impression that our whole coastline and beaches are all rock. Not so. I tend to take photos of rocks because I think they make a more interesting photo than endless stretches of clear, sandy beaches.
However, here are a few photos, taken on several visits, to beaches at Tomikan, Mossy Point, Broulee, North and South Head at Moruya, Tuross, Narooma and Mystery Bay. All of the beaches, covering a 50klm stretch of the NSW south coast, are typical* of most beaches around 30,000klm** coastline of Australia.
*Tanya has just commented that these beaches are in fact atypical of beaches in northern Australia where the waves have to cross the reefs. (See her comment.)
** This is an approximate coastal measurement. Different methods of measuring produce different results, also depending on whether islands, esturaries, etc. are measured too.

Great pics. But I have to say they are very atypical of the tropics, especially the waves - from tropical Queensland round to tropical Western Australia, the reefs break the waves offshore so there's rarely any surf. So these pictures make me really dislike the Great Barrier Reef at times.
Beautiful!! Pictures ~ 8,10,&11 remind me of some of the beaches on the outer banks, I have similar looking photo's...isn't that wild!!
And on your earlier post, the photo's of the beaches with rocks are breath takingly beautiful!!
I've never been to a beach with rocks like that...just gorgeous..I envy you!!
Thanks for sharing all your wonderful photo's, & all the incredible beauty!!
Catherine
P.S.
I should have said the Outer Banks in North Carolina.
Teasing me, aren't you?
Fantastic photos of out-of-this-world beaches.
We had a very hot day here today. What I wouldn't give to take a dip in that ocean.

I could so do with a day at the beach, in some sunshine...raining here again!!! I can almost smell the surf!
When seeing these wonderful pictures, I'd like to take the next plane to Australia ;-) ! My daughter who stayed for several months in Queensland, also brought home some photos of endless beaches.....without any people. That must be fantastic to walk there, alone with wind and waves!

I would have said the same thing as Tanya - the sea looks like a lake, just lapping the beaches here.
You live in a very beautiful country.
All the photographs are like a picture postcard-beautifully taken, showing nature at its best.
Oh if only I could transport myself there. beautiful coastline and scenery. Sara from farmingfriends
I could sit on one of those beaches for hours, just watching the water!! Such beautiful photos, Alice...it all looks so tropical to me and a place where dreams are made:-) xoxo

Just having another stroll...I wonder if that fellow's caught any fish yet.....ahhh, smell the ocean, feel that beautiful warm spring air. Picture 11 has such a peacefulness to it, with that crystal clear, still water. I'd love to be sitting on the sand, reading a good book, or just daydreaming. Or Better still, chatting with you :)
