During the last few months I've 'met' several new bloggers from a number of countries. Therefore, I thought I'd post some more photos of the city in which I live.
Canberra is the Capital City of Australia, with a population of approx. 320,000. It is situated in the southeast of the Australian continent, about 700metres (2000 feet) above sea level.
Lake Burley Griffin, named after the landscape architect who originally designed Canberra, is the centrepiece of the city. The Lake is actually a dammed up section of the Molonglo River. These photos were taken at this time last year.

I did not know Canberra was so far above sea level!
Beautiful photos
It's good to see these lovely pictures again. The Pear trees look especially glorious framing Mt. Ainslie, with the pink blossoms adding to the gorgeous scene.
It's a beautiful city Alice. A stroll with you around this serene lake on a warm spring morning would be the ant's pants :)
When I visited Australia I didn't get a chance to visit Canberra so thanks for the tour. The photographs are excellent. Sara from farmingfriends
Thank you Alice for showing us your lovely photos of Canberra. I think it's a good idea to show people the towns and cities where we live. Canberra always looks so fresh and clean.

Thank you Alice for this tour in Canberra. It is a good idea!
I hve been to Canberra twice, & each time the weather was beautiful, & we loved the scenery.
Hi Alice ~~ I enjoyed seeing the pictures of Canberra. I visited the
city in 1965 so I guess it has grown a lot since then. I did think it was a well designed city and very clean.
Thanks for the tour. Thank you for the comments about the Wooden Bowl and the jokes. Take care, Love, Merle.
Hi – this is an invitation to join the Garden Bloggers Retro carnival. I don’t know if you’ve ever come across the concept of a Blog carnival – if not I’ve explained it in detail on my site today (Oct 1). But basically the idea is to revive an old post which you think is worth rereading, or which you think new readers might enjoy. Send me the link to the post, and in November I’ll publish a series of posts describing and linking to all the posts people have nominated.
I hope you’ll join in and we have a fun carnival!

It must be great to live in a city where there is so much blue sky, water and apparently untouched countryside. I kept looking for the masses of buildings and skyscrapers all crowded together! thank you for the tour of your beautiful capital city. I also loved your previous post with those amazing, amazing fields of flowers!
What a beautiful place to live. Thank you so much for the tour. I enjoyed each photo. Now, if I could just see it in person. One day, yes, one day.

Oh I love to see all these pictures...and my daughter Beryl too. She didn't see this part of Australia when she stayed there for several months (three years ago). I hope that my husband and I will be able to visit your continent once we're retired (!!)....and this is not far away!!!
Thank you for this lovely tour!
Have a nice Sunday!

I enjoyed visiting Canberra back in my 'working' days with the National Archives. I always thought it was beautiful.
Still do.
Your pictures have bought back some very fond memories.
