Why do you think my husband spends his time painting tomato stakes?
Did he miss out on opportunities to paint as a child?
Perhaps he doesn't have enough to do?
Maybe he is just learning his colours?
Or will he lose them if they are not brightly coloured?
No, no, no and no. They are painted because it preserves them and they last longer, and if he's going to the trouble of painting them, then they might just as well be colourful, too.
well send him here ! I hate painting stakes
ReplyDeleteNice choice of colors!
ReplyDeleteMmmmmm - but all the "cool" colours. Where are the reds and oranges and yellows???? Oooh - there are two red ones, I can see them. Maybe he thought it would be easier to spot his first tomato if he kept away from those colours????
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which ......
Chloe, we actually have a few red ones already in use. The choice of colour is wholly determined by what suitable paint can be found in tins at the recycling centre.
ReplyDeleteOh, pretty. I'd never even thought of painting them. I love learning something new!
ReplyDeleteHow have your tommies been going with the bizarro storms lately? I'm in Wagga and the glancing hail and rain storms have been playing havoc with my fledgling plants.
ReplyDeleteKate - we've been lucky, not too much damage. I tried to access your blog, Kate, but it couldn't be found. Is there a problem, or is it just me?
ReplyDeleteYou must have a pretty wonderful hubby!
ReplyDeleteVery coordinated colors! The stakes certainly look much better painted.
ReplyDeleteI really like that green, especially between the blues. Your husband has made an art of tomato stake painting!
ReplyDeleteJudith - if you like that green colour then check out the June Archive and photos for 15th. You'll see what he really bought that paint for.
ReplyDeleteThat is the most organize, colorful stack of stakes I have ever seen....I have never seen painted stakes in the USA. If hubby brought those stakes to the US I bet he could sell them......
ReplyDeleteWow, colourful... beautiful. I'd enevr have thought that there is so much beauty in stakes!!
