Below are some of the trees that Richard has propagated from seed.
Scarlet Oak seedlings planted from seed in May 2005.
These germinated Scarlet Oaks were found in a pot with the taller trees. They have now been replanted.
Canadian Maple and 2 other(?) Maples planted from seed 15 months ago.
About 80 Canadian Maples
It sounds like you both are accomplished gardeners. What does he do with all those seedlings?
ReplyDeleteThat's a very good question, Susan. When we have an answer I'll let you know.
ReplyDeleteAs I work in a maple forest, all I can think of is raking, raking, raking all those leaves. LOL!
ReplyDeleteGrow your own forest and build a cabin right in the middle of it! LOL really sounds like he and you have green thumbs and can grow anything.
ReplyDeleteSandy, I guess that when you are not surrounded by deciduous trees you tend to forget about the fallen leaves. I'm sure the residents where we go to rake oak leaves for the compost each year must really curse the quantity of leaves they are smothered in each autumn.
ReplyDeleteSusan asked what I was going to ask - What does Richard do with all those trees? Is he going to start building his own log cabin anytime soon - he will have enough timber for walls, roof, furniture etc. The funny thing is I can't wait to have autumn leaves to rake up. What does that say about me - that I'm deprived of autumn colour?
