We spent Sunday evening enjoying Opera By The Lake (Lake Burley Griffin) as part of Canberra's Multicultural Festival. Dark clouds and thunder claps before leaving home ensured that we went well prepared with coats, umbrellas, etc. Sure enough, the clouds rolled in and so did the rain, although not too heavily, and as though choreographed from on high, the rain ceased 10 minutes before the program commenced and the sun broke through again.
Here are a few of the 28 photos I took, mostly of the sky.
That sounds like lovely fun. What glorious skies you have over there. These photos are beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful that you got some rain...even if only a little. Maybe there'll be more soon. I hope so. xoxo
You take such neat cloud pictures! I am reminded of the Joni Mitchell song lyrics - I've looked at clouds from both sides now...
ReplyDeleteAlice it sounded like it was a purfect night for you all nothing like being under the stars when it comes to opera is there.
ReplyDeleteI sit here and look at your lovely photos of the lake and it reminds me of stories my mother in law tells me about her riding her horse in that very area before the lake was "A lake" and to think she took a flight with kingford Smith in his little plane right over there were you sat. such treasured memories.
have a lovely day.
