The Clouds Roll In ....
.... and roll right on out again leaving little or no rain in most places. Certainly none on my garden or in our tanks!
Oh Alice, I can completely empathise with you and your 'no-rain' clouds. We had the same yesterday - lots of ominous clouds, the off rumble of thunder, but no rain at all (here at least)
In fact, the clouds were so spectacular that I went inside to get my camera (thinking of you and your fondness for clouds, I was going to do a cloud photo post!), but got distracted on the way by my fighting offspring, and then forgot altogether!
They certainly were pretty clouds Alice...so fluffy against the blue sky...and your photos are gorgeous, especially the last one. That's your garden at the top of the hill, right? It must be so heart-wrenching to see the clouds pass over without dropping any life-giving rain when it's so badly needed. We've had quite a bit during the past week, and very dreary days, except for a glorious Wednesday, when we were on the road, and couldn't get out into the garden. The drive through the fall countryside was lovely though.
While in Los Angeles, I asked a shopkeeper about the annual weather. According to him it stays around 71 degrees at the lowest and there is hardly ever a cloud in the sky, with lots of sunshine.
What lovely rain clouds and the 8th picture down looks rather alarming doesn't it? Too bad you didn't get any rain either. We do a lot of cloud watching ourselves, with the same outcome as you...no rain.
Tried to post this for the previous post but blogger would not let me(?) so here it is
ReplyDeletestunning floral displays there Alice, and I love that path...anything made out of wood is so warm and lovely in the garden.
ps great clouds too! did it rain?
You must have been spending the day with your nose up... lovely Canberra sky with all that space
ReplyDeleteSome of those mock threatening clouds might have rolled our way. We had thunderstorms last evening, & some real rain! Not enough though.
