Little Sophie Delezio has come out of her medically-induced coma and is smiling and laughing. She has been in intensive care since being struck by a car two weeks ago. Doctors now expect her to be moved from intensive care in a few days and even hope that she will be well enough to return home in two or three weeks. Although badly injured she is one tough little fighter.

That's wonderful news. Thank you for your prayers and good wishes.

A Mothers' Day Gift

My Mothers' Day gift arrived late in the afternoon. I was relaxing and watching a DVD when Richard stuck his head through the doorway and barked, "Get your camera!" Never one to miss a photo opportunity, I rushed outside and began snapping madly.

I think this 'gift' was well worth waiting for, don't you?




 



















Some of these photos have been cropped a little - I was in such a hurry to capture everything before it disappeared that I didn't consider the content too much - but none of them have been colour enhanced.

It was on Mothers' Day last year that Richard gave me the camera. What better way to celebrate its first anniversary.

The green, green grass of home ....

... at least we hope it will be. Having spent nearly 3 years with scarcely a blade of green grass in the garden due to drought and water restrictions, we decided that enough sacrifice was enough. Over the past week and a half the front and side lawns have been rotary hoed, raked twice, dug up again for the watering system, raked and levelled, spread with 7 cubic metres of topsoil, levelled, raked, cultivated, raked twice, tamped down, and finally sprayed with seed, fertiliser and mulch, in that order. Now it's all a pretty turquoise colour, which we hope in a few weeks will be replaced by a healthy green. Can't wait to start that mower!

I might add that contractors did the rotary hoeing, the watering system and the spraying of the seed. Richard and I did all the rest - and now we need a rest. I guess we'll just sit and watch the grass grow now.
