Arlo Margaret......continued

Since my last posting I've spent a week in Townsville with Tanya, Geoff and the beautiful Arlo and met more of Geoff's family; been home for a few days before welcoming Arlo and family to a very cold Canberra; and travelled to the south coast to introduce her to the sand and surf before bidding a tearful "Goodbye" to them all. Tanya, Geoff and Arlo will fly to China for a two-year posting on 1 August.
In this series of photos Arlo actually gets younger, ie. in the first one she is four weeks old, but only a week old in the last one.

  1. Lovely photos Alice. Arlo is just so gorgeous. August is approaching very quickly ... have you booked a flight to China yet? Lol ... I would have ... being the clingy Grandma that I am. What an adventure for them all!

  2. You were quick off the mark, Bernie.

Yes, Arlo is such a beautiful baby, and they make such a lovely and loving family. It will be a big, exciting adventure for them in China, and we hope to go over there next year.

It was good to meet you in Townsville, Bernie.

  3. She is gorgeous. I love the second shot, her eyes are so bright. You daughter is lovely too. It is heart wrenching when they move to other countries but does give a good excuse for travel. Hope you are keeping warm down there.

  5. Thanks so much for sharing these beautiful photos of your lovely family, Alice.
Those bright eyes in the second photo are such a treat to see. What a beautiful child Arlo is!
Tanya and Geoff are obviously filled with joy, as are Aunty Sara and the proud grandparents. It's so nice to see your smiling faces :)
You've been a busy grandma, knitting such cute little garments for the wee miss.
China will be a big adventure for the little family and a great chance for another exciting travel adventure for you and Richard.
However it's very sad to have to wish them goodbye so soon after meeting sweet baby Arlo.
Sending hugs and love across the miles, dear friend. xoxo

  6. I've been coming back all day to say Hello to this beautiful young lady---my comments have been misbehaving lately.

She's just the most gorgeous child, especially against the shoulder, with her perfect little cupid's bow. Makes me smile right now.

I feel with you about the posting---our group will be posted to Europe next year, and we're already planning packages and trips. It's a fantastic opportunity, but such a heart-wish to see them more often.

Lovely baby!! I know you're just in Heaven.

  9. Wow, she's a smart little one...looks like she's been here before, judging by those expressive eyes. You say they're off to China soon for two years? Oh no, unless you fly over, you won't see Arlo very often. How sad for you.

    She's a beautiful baby.
