Green Thumb Sunday

I have been invited to join Green Thumb Sunday, which should be fun. Similar to other specific postings for a particular day of the week, this one calls for participants to post a photo from nature, eg. their garden, an animal/insect, clouds, trees, water or almost anything found in the natural world.

I thought I would post this photo for my initial GTS because, although the fence, posts and paint may be a little removed from the natural world, it does form one of the boundaries of my garden and it took so jolly long to get the photo without the subject either hiding or pulling faces, that I felt it deserved this honour.

  2. Excellent choice Alice. Sitting in any garden regardless of what your doing is an experience into the natural world. He looks so peaceful. It has a Tom Sawyer air about it. (T. Sawyer was an American Classic Novel we had to read as school aged kids.)

Welcome to Green Thumb Sunday! Looks like you're going to have a great looking fence when he's done. I can't wait to see more of your garden and perhaps some views of your country from your perspective.

I have trouble taking a nice photo of my husband too. He always puts on this big fake grin. Since I have a digital camera I'll usually humor him and take the photo and then snap another when he thinks I'm done. LOL

If you know of anyone else that might want to join Green Thumb Sunday just tell them about it. The more the merrier. :) Anyone who enjoys taking photos of landscapes, nature - wildlife, gardens or anything that fits into that general theme, and who is willing to put up a photo most Sundays can join.

    Have a great day!

I bet it's because he doesn't want people to see him in that hat hehe. Or maybe because he was grumpy about having to paint the fence? (lol only joking)

I'm new to Green Thumb Sunday too, and my photo is up!

    Happy Sunday

  8. Richard always has a project, doesn't he? Ross wants to know why your hand doesn't fit around the paint brush. He says painting is women's work (ha!). I told him someone has to work the camera :)
    I really like this shot.
Green thumb Sunday sounds like fun.

Ahh! I see you got it working with the code and all, lovely!

Warmth welcome and what a great start, to introduce your garden fence. Then you can continue with everything in it later. *lol*

And of course I have to love that fact that you've got a nice painter there too ;-)

  17. That is a cute photo, white washing the fence! Kind of a Huckleberry/Tom Sawyer type of photo. I loved all your other photos as well. You sure have a 'green thumb'!

  21. Shona - Good Luck with the renovations.
Wendy & Kathleen - Yes, we're quite familiar with Tom Sawyer over here, at least people of my vintage are. I suggested to hubby that he was playing Tom Sawyer, but he said that if he really was then he wouldn't be painting the fence at all - I would be doing it and paying him for the privilege.
Kerri - tell that funnyman Ross that my hand does, and has, fitted perfectly around a paint brush handle, but I just didn't want to show hubby up ...lol.

Thank you all for your warm welcome to Green Thumb Sunday. I will be spreading the word.
