As mentioned yesterday, part of this beautiful chalet on top of Mt Buffalo was destroyed by bushfire last summer. The chalet has been closed since the end of January 2007 and it's unknown when it will reopen. This is causing much distress and loss of business in the Mt Buffalo area.
We couldn't see where the damage had been, but then, that was nearly 10 months ago. Obviously someone still attends to the property and looks after the beautiful gardens. It's such a shame that no-one is there to appreciate them.
What a place! What a garden! What a view! What a rock! Imagine gardening amidst all those rocks!
ReplyDeleteSomebody does a wonderful job keeping those gardens beautiful. They add such charm to the wonderful old building. I hope it reopens soon so that people will come and enjoy those gorgeous gardens.
I wonder what blooms after the azaleas, rhododendrons, lupines and iris.
Thanks for these beautiful photos Alice.
Lovely photos of a very special spot on earth. I could do with a couple of days soaking in a view like that.
ReplyDeleteThis chalet and the surrounding gardens are quite a view. I hope the chalet will reopen soon.

What a delight this posting is. Looking at your wonderful pictures of this beautiful place is a joy to behold, particularly on such a dull, dark, damp day as we have today in Wales.

What beautiful gardens, such a pity that The Chalet isn't operational yet. It looks like a very peaceful spot.
ReplyDeleteTwo baby rosella's is a pretty good result. You'll have to sweet talk that pussy cat so that he stays away.
