iTunes

I'm sure there must be lots of people out there using iTunes to download music to their computers, iPods, MP3 players, etc.

Do you have any problems with the program? I'm not very happy with it at all. Many of the CDs I load will have some distortion in the copying, like minute gaps in the music. Yet I can play the very same CD in the computer through Media Player and it works perfectly. These are my own CDs I'm referring to as I've never bought any music from iTunes.

Could it be the speed at which the music is transferred to iTunes that is the problem? For example, a 3 minute piece of music takes about 30 seconds to transfer.

I'd really like to hear what others have to say about this program - either good or bad points.

I have had a few problems like that. On a couple cd's it would only be like 26 seconds worth of music....and I paid for the whole song......an I have had a couple of skips, I do think it is the way it is set up, speed like you said. I would buy a 99 cent single from Wallmart and Realplay music store...and msn......those are the only ones that I bought off of......

Hi Alice, it usually takes a short amount of time to transfer music onto itunes from a cd (eg 30 secs).
is it just itunes which sounds distorted or does that copy onto your ipod too? because sometimes it does sound distorted on the computer but thats only because the computer is loading other things too. Sophies says that she finds alot of information on the apple website - message boards/help.

Thanks, Robyn and Sophie. Yes, the distortion transmits to the iPod as well. I also like to play the music from the computer (via iTunes) as it saves having to change CDs - I can just let it play, but it's annoying with the poor quality on some tracks. I'll certainly look up the Apple website as Sophie suggests. Thank you both.

Sorry Alice, I'm ignorant of everything to do with itunes. I've only read about it but have never used it.

I have an ipod but i don't use itunes to get music.... I use a program called 'Morpheus'. It is super duper for getting music and lots more.
