Another Day in the Great Outdoors.

I have just come home after another day in the sunny fresh air at the Hall Craft Markets. Out there by 7.30am to help ShellyC set up the stall in time for the customers who begin arriving about 8.15am even though the hours are officially 10.00-3.00. Business was quite reasonable today, although one wouldn't want to be making a living from a once-a-month market, but it's good fun and you often get to catch up with people whom you haven't seen for a long time.

Three of the dolls' dress and pants sets for the stall which I share with ShellyC. Posted by Picasa

Children's reversible aprons. I also make adult aprons to match the childrens ones. Posted by Picasa

Wow you've been very busy Alice. Have you sold a lot?

Carol - not a lot - 3 adult aprons, 2 peg bags and 2 sets of dolls' clothes today - but the more I sell the more I would have to make for the next market. Naturally one would like to sells lots and lots each day, but I was quite content with today's effort. We have another market at a different venue this Thursday.

Those clouds look like they held rain in them. Did it rain?

Thank you, Sonia. No, it didn't rain, Sandy, thankfully. Most of the tents were there for sun protection.

Beautiful work, looks like a great day to be outdoors. What are peg bags?

Alice said...

Susan, peg bags are for keeping clothes pegs in instead of leaving them on the clothes line to get dirty or perish in the sun. I make bags that can be tied around the waist like an apron, or attached to the line itself or attached to a clothes basket trolley. Do you use a clothes line outside for drying clothes or is everything dried in a clothes drier?

I used to dry clothes outside, especially cloth diapers! I remember the fresh smell of the clothes - and the stiffness! I don't know why I stopped hanging them out, just lazy I guess. We call them clothespins (your pegs) and had a bag for them that slid along the line, and would bring them in with the clothes.
