What Happened?

How could I go from Saturday's photo to this? It's real easy! It's time to sort out boxes of photos, etc. that have been sitting under the computer table for more than two years - ever since the Canberra fires. The rest of the mess is just called living.

iTunes

I'm sure there must be lots of people out there using iTunes to download music to their computers, iPods, MP3 players, etc.

Do you have any problems with the program? I'm not very happy with it at all. Many of the CDs I load will have some distortion in the copying, like minute gaps in the music. Yet I can play the very same CD in the computer through Media Player and it works perfectly. These are my own CDs I'm referring to as I've never bought any music from iTunes.

Could it be the speed at which the music is transferred to iTunes that is the problem? For example, a 3 minute piece of music takes about 30 seconds to transfer.

I'd really like to hear what others have to say about this program - either good or bad points.

Blogging Corner

This is the new corner where I can meet and commune with my blog friends. Richard and Russell put together this new computer desk, following very meagre instructions. I was a bit apprehensive about having to disconnect what seemed like a million power and computer cords, move all the equipment into place and connect it all up again. But it worked, first time, no hiccups at all. So I can now blog and watch TV at the same time - how decadent. I can't guarantee that the desk will remain this tidy forever. (The desk IS all one colour - it just looks different colours in the light.)

A Very Formal Purple Giraffe

Tanya in her recent blog mentioned that one of her favourite colours is teal green, but with reservations about her Year 10 Formal dress. Naturally, that gave me the idea to post a photo of her on that big night in 1987. I thought she looked lovely, although this is not a good copy of the photo. She agreed to me posting the photo on condition that it was so tiny that no-one could see it, but I know that you will all avert your eyes and not look at this one ...lol.

Show Time

Bungendore is a small town of about 2000 people some 20 minutes drive from Canberra. Today was Show Day. For such a small place they put on an excellent show featuring alpacas, cattle, dogs, rabbits, horses, goats, poultry, snakes, sheep, a farmyard nursery, craft and produce, including vegetables, cakes & biscuits, and beer. There was the usual collection of sideshows, stalls, and fun for the kids. Whilst the number of entries was relative to the population, the quality was very good. Congratulations, Bungendore.

Clouds

One of the joys of living in the country or close to it is being able to 'steal' the landscape, clouds and all. I know that urban dwellers appreciate clouds too but sometimes there are too many surrounding buildings to be able to 'incorporate' them into their garden vista.
