Alice - Through the Looking Glass (Window)

... (with apologies to Lewis Carroll)

These are the views I could see through my kitchen window this morning - actually, they were taken whilst standing just outside the window rather than have a flywire mesh across all the photos. Posted by Picasa

Well! A little while ago when I visited there was no comment link here but now there is. I've been visiting Tanya. She has a good sense of humour :) I enjoyed her blog.
Lovely pics here Alice.

how lovely. It must be delightful to sit with your very first cup of tea in the morning.

Ohh why can't I have a veiw like that. Do you get the morning sun?

Alice said...

Calidore - all that side of the house faces north east, so we do get morning sun. With the roof on the deck all of the windows on that side are protected from the sun in the summer but in the winter, when the sun is much lower in the sky, it comes into the rooms for a few hours in the morning; not as much as it used to before the deck was roofed, but it's small loss when compared to the advantages of a waterproof roof (rather than the shadecloth).

Beautiful. All that green. I love the smell of gum trees. I am sure you do too.

What a view! I'm sure you and your family enjoy this deck every day you can. As always, beautiful pictures.

I love all the greenery on your verandah! A perfect place to sit and contemplate :)

Being a morning person myself, I can really appreciate the orientation of your veranda, Alice. What a great place to start the day! And the loss of a bit of light is more than made up for by the ability to sit out there when it's raining, or am I weird for enjoying such a thing?

Green and lush. I can't wait for spring. This has been a really dreary winter where I live. Record breaking rain and wind. Wahhhhhhh......

Val - absolutely agree (not that you're weird) about the pleasure of sitting out there when it's raining. I think everyone loves the sound of rain on a metal roof - oh, probably not Sandy though.

That does it. I definitely hate you. Susan

What a peaceful view! Were there tons of birds singing when you shot these, or was it as still and quiet as the photos look?

Oh my gosh, I have never been anyplace so beautiful....even on vacations....that is the most beautiful sight I have ever seen... How wonderful to wake up and fix that cup of tea, and just look out at that beautiful sight.... I envy you my friend! You are so fortunate.......

Beautiful pictures Alice. I particularly like the first one. You have a lovely veranda. You seem to have quite an elevated position. Marion

You really do have some very beautiful plants and trees to look at Alice. Lucky you. I'll be over for an early cup of tea :)

Our seasons are opposite to each other.
What a delight it will be to see flowers in January.
I have to ask...

Can we link to each other.

Thanks,

Patsi

You'll have to excuse me.
I couldn't remember if I asked about linking to each other.
I keep strange hours so right now at 7 am I should be going to bed.
Have a great evening.
