A Very Formal Purple Giraffe

Tanya in her recent blog mentioned that one of her favourite colours is teal green, but with reservations about her Year 10 Formal dress. Naturally, that gave me the idea to post a photo of her on that big night in 1987. I thought she looked lovely, although this is not a good copy of the photo. She agreed to me posting the photo on condition that it was so tiny that no-one could see it, but I know that you will all avert your eyes and not look at this one ...lol. Posted by Picasa

Is this you Alice? Whoever she is, she's beautiful! What a pretty dress. And such a pensive look. You're being a bit secretive, aren't you????
A mystery is fun, but you have to tell! :)

Kerri - I wish! Tanya, at the age of 15, ready for her Year 10 Formal. The dress was a little more green than that, but taking photos of photos is always a bit dodgy.

The image came out very well, considering. Does Tanya look like you Alice? Teal IS a beautiful color.

Very nice photo - doesn't she look lovely. Teal is a wonderful colour - my 21st dress was teal.

I remember having a teal dress - all shiny fabric(taffeta?) and with one of those stand up cowls/collars, I think they're called. Does that date me?

Thanks for sharing this photo with us!

Kerri - I think she probably does look like me, but "shhhh, don't tell her that".

So lovely! When she is old and grey she will appreciate these pictures so much. I look at my pictures of my younger year and realize how good I looked but didn't think so at the time.

There's no link on your latest post to add a comment to your lovely 'through the looking glass' pics Alice. So many pretty plants to look at out your window! The view beyond looks lovely too. How big is your yard?
I see you've added flickr. I'll have to find out more about that.
OK, I just did! Your pictures are really beautiful and oh, what a garden!!!
