Solution or Reason....

.... before I lose mine!!!
On looking back through postings from earlier this year I see that about half of the photos in each one are now reduced to little red crosses, and no amount of right-clicking will restore them.
PLEASE does anyone have a solution to this problem, or even a reason as to why it could be happening?
If I can't find the answer then it looks like I will have to part company with Blogger.
Is Wordpress the way to go?

I don't know - I just switched from wordpress because I was having trouble uploading photos. I've never had any problems with blogger, so I don't know what the answer is to your problem.

I'm new to your site, but I like what I see - I'll be checking back in!

Moseplassen - thank you for your comment. If you look at the postings in April 2008, for instance, half of the photos in each post have now become little red crosses.

For several weeks only one or two photos would disappear and they could be restored by the 'right click/show picture' method but that doesn't work now.

I would be really grateful if you would check them out. Hopefully it's only on my computer that they disappear - annoying though that would be, - but I think that may be too much to hope for.

I look forward to your further comment, Moseplassen.

If you have a free flickr account they only let you upload so many photos before they are replaced with the newer ones. I switched to a flickr pro account and can upload all I want. This may be the problem or it could be a problem with the server. Sorry I can't be of more help.

I looked at April's post and yes, there are a lot of missing photos. Your recent photos seem to be staying though.
Have you checked your Blogger web album to see how much space you've used up? You might want to try reducing the size of your photos so that you don't use it up so quickly.
Apart from that, Alice, I don't have any suggestions. Sorry you're having such an ordeal.

Yes, I can se the missing pictures-symbol now.
My first thing to check woud be if you maby have too many pictures in your account. Blogger uses a picasaalbum.

Is the account foul? Are the pictures missing from there too?

Alice hello what a lovely trip you had down this way and to think you passed just 20min's from here.....I have only dialup and when a post has the little red crosses I just go into that post only and find all the photos come up for me. I think it takes too long to down load and it gives up but one post at a time is ok!

Thank you for the lovely comments the high tea was fun.

I also checked it out, and it is as you wrote, always the first few pictures in the April posts are visible, then I have the little empty squares too. But I enjoyed all the photos (and always with this wonderful blue sky) of your last posts! They were perfect...as always!

I seriously hope that I don't moz myself by writing this!
it used to happen to me with Blogger a LOT and I'd go back in and reload all the photos again - such a pain... sometimes it would even happen a second time. No one ever was able to give me an reason why it was happening and it would go on for weeks - months even ... BUT hasn't happened for a very long time now - touch wood. One friend duggested that i try making the photos smaller - made no difference at all... so no brilliant ideas just a wish that it sorts itself out ... soon.

I just read catsmom's comment and my experience has been the same as hers - no pics disappearing for quite a long time now. I'd definitely try making the pics smaller though, if only to save space in your Picasa web album.
