It's Just Not Fair !!

In late 2003, Sophie Delezio was a little 3 year old girl attending a childcare centre in Sydney. One afternoon a car crashed through the front of the building, caught fire and landed on top of a number of little children. Sophie's injuries included 3rd degree burns to 80% of her body and also resulted in the loss of her feet and several fingers.

Sophie spent more than a year in hospital and was an inspiration to everyone who met her. This delightful little girl made an amazing recovery and recently celebrated her fifth birthday and started school. The future for Sophie looked bright despite her traumatic past.

This afternoon at 4.00pm, on her way home from school, she was struck by a car and is in a critical condition in hospital with head, leg and internal injuries.

As I said, it's just not fair.

Please could you remember Sophie and her devoted family in your prayers.

Alice, my heart is anguished over this. I heard it tonight on my way to a school concert and I had to go outside. People were stunned, not our little Sophie.
I have put it on the prayer blog - please every one - pray, pray, pray

This is just so tragic...and to happen twice to this little girl. Her parents must be in such unimaginable anguish and my heart goes out to them. I will keep her in my prayers.

Terrible story, Alice. I have been following it daily in our local papers. Seems she is a real fighter, and the family are hoping for a good outcome. I will keep them in my prayers.
Another story, about the miners in Tasmania, has taken my thoughts and prayers, too. The poor men, being trapped for such a long time. I hope they get out safely soon.
Take care, Meow

CaC - Sophie is recovering well. She has been out of her medically-induced coma for more than a week, she's laughing, smiling and expected to go home in a few days. She had a skin graft operation on her head just the other day and doctors are very happy with her progress. She is one very tough and beautiful little girl. Thank you for your enquiry.
