This photo is typical of many areas in Australia a couple of years after bushfires. Eucalypt trees in the process of regeneration. The bare branches have died and will eventually fall, but the trunks are producing an abundance of new leaves on small branches, which will ultimately replace the dead ones.

Wow. I've never seen Eucalypt trees, as I know of. Maybe somewhere abroad without knowing it. Looks like they grows really big.
How different your country is from Sweden, when it comes to plants and trees...
Very interesting!
I expected to see a koala somewhere in that tree.
We are experiencing so many forest fires out west that it will be many years (about 20)before we have a good stand of trees again.
We have brush fires here and some of our forests have trees that are partially burned like this one and have leaved out with dead branches sticking up and out.
Brings back memories Alice! The stark branches make an interesting contrast to the new leaves lower down.
I meant to say I loved the beautiful ghost gum in the post below. Reminds me of my early teen years. We had one just like it in our back yard at Palm Beach.
Ross noticed the ute by the petrol bowsers and asks if he can see a picture of one side-on please (if you get the chance). They don't make them like that over here. He thinks they're so much handier with those sides.
Do the trees smell strong? I love Eucalyptus and think it is so invigorating! Nice to see them coming alive again!
Happy Sunday!
It's amazing how fast a forest will regrow isn't it. Happens here too but due to our cool winter climate it happens much more slowly.
I love how they look just after the new growth has just appeared. Thanks.
It always amazes me the way the bush regenerates Alice. I particularly like to see the fresh green shoots coming through the charcoaled earth.
When I visited Canberra a few years after a bush fire, that sort of sight really made an impression on me. I was so amazed the trees were coming back. To me it's a good lesson- no matter how bad things get, life can still go on!
