The Place Needs Dusting......

..... OUTSIDE!!!

As a result of wild weather across southern Australia, we have been 'visited' by tonnes of topsoil from South Australia and western New South Wales.

Whilst we may be covered in dust, the farmers out west will have suffered heartbreak and financial loss from the stripping of their topsoil.

The sun struggling through at about 8.30am.

Multi-layered clouds this afternoon against what should be a blue sky.

At least the fields are still green.

The thunder was rumbling too.

Slightly clearer in the upper atmosphere.

What dramatic pictures. It must be awful for all involved. It is dry here and warming up with a high fire danger.

Heavens, that's a lot of dust! Nasty stuff. Looks like you're in for some dusting inside as well, as it will probably seep through the cracks and end up on the furniture.
Those poor farmers. If it's not one thing, it's another!
Thanks for sharing these fascinating pictures, Alice. I hope your skies will be bluer soon.
Autumn has officially begun here as of today.

I wish you all rain to nourish your land, and blue skies for tomorrow.

I have read in the press about this terrible topsoil winds. I lived in Baghdad and your pictures reminded me of the sand winds we experienced there!

I spent two days with my son and DIL in the Ardennes where they stayed for a 2 weeks holidays, and I saw Sidney yesterday evening in the News ! I told my husband tomorrow I have to ask all my australian friends to know more about it and if they are concerned, I just came from Diane's blog, what a view she had from her study ! That's really something I have never seen or heard of in my whole life !

The storm had cleared by yesterday and we spent all day cleaning inside and out and cars. Now the forcast is for another one on Sunday, so I've stopped cleaning.

Those are great photos, Frances. Wasn't that dust just awful? And now there's another one coming. You've probably got it by now...more cleaning. Anyone would think we had nothing else better to do!

What a dust storm, I read about it on another friend's blog and I have never seen dust like that. Were you forever cleaning up after?
Have a great (dust free)weekend my friend......:-) Hugs

I'm sorry that the storms are blowing all that dust around---and that farmers are loosing their topsoil. Not a good thing!
