Koalas (which are not bears) spend most of their lives perched up eucalypt trees, eating leaves or sleeping. Baby koalas ride on their mother's back for many months. They are very difficult to see, even in known habitats.

Koalas provides very clear and informative data on these intriguing little animals.

Hi Alice,

Cute photos!

We saw one of these for real at Mum's farm yesterday - didn't take any photos though, as we have quite a few koala photos now (though none as close-up as these, of course!)

So cute.. Do they live 'wild' like racoons and such?

I've always thought Koalas are so adorable...do they roam around your neighbourhood at all or do they pretty much keep to themselves?

How cute! The best we see around here are squirrels...

How lovely to see a koala! Your cousins must've loved it. Was it a flora and fauna park?
You seem to be having lots of fun Alice. Can't wait to hear all about it.
These are really neat pictures.
Thanks for sharing them :)

Hi Alice,
Great photos ... the are a sweet looking animal, aren't they.
I'll never forget years ago, mum, dad & I took some overseas visitors to Philip Island to the Koala park there, and the koalas were being very unresponsive (as they are, usually!!), so someone poked one (gently) with a stick. Well, the koala was disgusted, and piddled on the head of the poker !!! It was very, very funny ... the one who was peed on didn't think so, though !!
Have a great week.
Take care, Meow
