"The Flowers that Bloom in the Spring, tra, la ..."

.... are few and far between
and not very interesting on this,
the First Day of Spring.

Osteospermum (African Daisies)

Banksia

Alyssum and violets

Perennial Wallflower

From a distance the tassels on this Garryia eliptica appear rather non-descript,

but up-close they are really pretty - like a long necklace of delicate mauve and silver 'beads'.

I too adore the Garryia Eliptica... such gorgeous draping. I can imagine the blooms flowing over building tops in the north of Italy. Just beautiful.

I'm so glad to see you posting pictures of your spring garden! Of course, that means it's almost fall here, which makes me sad because winter follows so soon afterward. Nevertheless, I'll have your beautiful blooms to enjoy while our are gardens are taking their long winter's nap.
The Garryia eliptica is lovely with its long, delicate necklaces.
Happy spring Alice!
